"Hello Tatjana & Chrissy,
I sure have missed the good sessions over good food with the wonderful facilitators. I am so thankful that I found the workshops at the right time - not midway through, not towards the end, but just when I needed them, meeting me right where my head was at. For me, I just had an idea, and it evolved during the time that I was attending each of the six workshops, and each session assisted immensely. The workshops enabled me to look holistically at my idea and challenged me to really consider the voracity of it. The information that was delivered and the quality of the Workshop Leaders from the Social Enterprise sector was first class. I am part way through my business plan (still) but I am making progress. I did apply for the School for Social Entrepreneur's Social Enterprise Incubator Program which you introduced me to thank you, and have just been invited in for an interview which is very exciting. Participating in these workshops, and meeting with other like-minded Social Entrepreneurs has been so uplifting. Hopefully soon I will be turning my ideas into reality, and the ripples will be gold. I hope you are well. See you again" ~ Sam Bradley
"Upon my research while visiting Sydney, I was looking to study more about the new wave of social entrepreneurship in Australia. I was immensely impressed by Social Enterprises Sydney. The workshops offered were small, intimate settings which focused on every aspect of business within the social sector. Impressed by the speakers, education, and service, I highly recommend any of their workshops or program events. The free concessions during the meetings and free lunches after were also a plus!" ~ Mark Shawky, Executive Health Service Management
"I can't thank you enough for the opportunity to attend your workshops. I learnt something new from every presentation, and enjoyed the variety of perspectives you sourced through such a diverse group of presenters. The exposure to the growing interest and innovation in social enterprises was invaluable; but I have to say that more than any other factor I most valued being in the presence of like-minded, passionate entrepreneurs with the desire to share their ideas, experience and enthusiasm! Now I'm looking forward to your networking forums. Thank you." ~ Nat Ellis
"The CMRC and Social Enterprise have been working together for over 2 years and in this time several CMRC staff have attended your 6 series Social Enterprise Workshops, received business mentoring, revision in current social enterprise practice , business planning and development support. This support has assisted the CMRC to build upon the capacity of refugee and resettling communities by initiating small ventures and local start ups, community business projects and CMRC social enterprises. These programs are designed to provide economic opportunities for all our clients; at the same time building good will, self esteem and ultimately to support the growth and improve the social economy within the western suburbs. To both Chrissy Crust and Tatjana Co, we thank you for all your energy, expertise, leadership and passion; you are highly skilled social enterprise ‘champions’ who built upon the local resources and share a commitment to the economic and employment benefits for our diverse communities." ~ Nexhmije Shala, Community Migrant Resource Centre - Parramatta
“I highly recommend the workshops to anyone that has or wants to start a Social Enterprise. They were very informative and well presented by various experts in their field which meant that I was able to walk away from each session with very valuable and useful knowledge. They were very enjoyable, I met some great people and the food was fantastic. Looking forward to catching up with everyone again at the next networking event” ~ Joe Figliano, Co-founder of SEEDS
“The workshops with SES gave me the confidence to start making my idea for a social enterprise into a reality. It's one thing to have dreams floating in your head but being able to discuss them with other like-minded people in a supportive environment and getting practical advice and answers to questions helps you actually bring it to the next level. As an example, I had never considered running a crowdfunding campaign before but after hearing from a speaker on the subject who was so knowledgeable, with great examples and tips, I realised it could work for me - and it did! We raised the seed money we needed to get started and are in the process of incorporating. I would recommend these workshops in a heartbeat!” ~ Sharon Baldwin, Sydney Creative Playground
